Obituary for George Edward Bond

Funeral Services for George Bond, 79, of Seven Points are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wilson officiating.
Mr. Bond went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 4, 2017 in Tyler.
George Edward Bond was born March 16, 1937 in Dallas, Texas the son of George William Bond and Evelyn Watkins Bond. He was a Food Service Design Consultant who worked many years for H.G. Rice and Company. He was a member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, designed many of the major hospital kitchens all over the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex including Presbyterian and Baylor. One of George’s most renowned work was when he drew the plans and co-designed the Kitchen at the Library of Congress. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing the guitar. In his younger year’s, he played in a band called the Catalina’s and later played for his church. George was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of God and was a faithful follower of Christ. His love for the church allowed him to witness to others as he had a Blog called HeDidItForMe on Facebook with over a thousand followers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother William Ray Bond, sister Beverly Satterwhite and a beloved son Stephen Edward Bond.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Janice Bond of Seven Points; two sons, Jeffrey Clarke Bond of Seven Points, Matthew Kirk Bond and wife Rebecca of Athens; two brothers, Charles Alvin Bond and Howard Lee Bond both of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, Stephen Thomas Bond, Kayla Marie Bond, Tyler Kirk Bond, Tobias Cole Bond, Dylan Ash Castleberry, Marlin Wyatt Castleberry, Bryan Daniel Castleberry, Patrick Dunavan Castleberry and one great grandchild Carson Turnbull.
Visitation will be held before the service from 9-11:00 A.M. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
