Athens – Private family graveside services for Thomas Sanderson, 67, of Athens are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Sherman and will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanderson passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Athens.

Thomas Lynn Sanderson was born May 18, 1949 in Sherman, Texas the son of Thomas Edwin Sanderson and Wanda Louise Thompson Sanderson. He was a Navy Veteran who worked as a fireman and an electrician until 1971. Thomas loved working on electronics and repairing refrigerators and other appliances as a hobby. He retired as a Driver for C.R. England after many years of service and will be missed by all those he knew and loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son Gene Sanderson of Garland; three brothers Jim Sanderson of Arlington, Charles Young and wife Ellen of Athens, James “Steele” Young and wife Carol of San Diego, California and one grandchild Maggie Sue Sanderson.
