Momma
One of my favorite memories of my momma is her green thumb! She could pick a leaf off a plant (and she did a lot!! LOL), stick it in some dirt and soon have a huge, gorgeous plant! I remember the beautiful roses she loved to grow. If you wanted a "start" of a plant, all you had to do is let her know what plant you wanted, and she would stick a stem in some dirt or water, get you a start rooted!!
She also loved to crochet. She enjoyed finding patterns of animals or dolls and then making those for her grandchildren. She always said she couldn't read a pattern to copy it, but if she could look at the item, she sure could copy it! She made many toys for her grandkids, as well as afghans and such.
Though she didn't get to visit with them often, momma loved her grandkids!! When you talked to her, that would be all she wanted to tell you about. She wanted to know what each one was doing, where they were, and if they were alright. It might not of always been expressed easily, but she truly loved all of her family.
Momma, I know we had our differences in the past, but I am so thankful that you taught me the things that you did. You showed me how to never give up on a plant just because it looked like it was a goner. You taught me to savor every moment I have with my children and grandchildren. You taught me to love more freely and express that love. You taught me a lot more than I think either of us realized.
I love you momma and I will miss you. But I am so thankful that I have the assurance of seeing you again one day. I know that you and dad are with Jesus now, probably crocheting a blanket for Him, or tending his garden! I know that one day I will get to see you both again, in no pain or sorrow, but with that big smile on your face and your infectious laugh. Until then, keep those roses blooming, and keep rooting new plants for that beautiful garden you now have in heaven. I love you!
