Funeral services for Donna Kay Weaver, 60, of Athens are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating.

Mrs. Weaver passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015, in Athens.

Donna Kay Weaver was born April 29, 1955 in Athens, Texas the daughter of Durward “D.B.” and Ruby Pirtle. Donna attended Athens High School and Graduated from TVCC with an Associate’s degree in accounting. She enjoyed crafting, baking, catering, floral design and reading books. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with and spoiling her grandkids. She was very close to family, friends and coworkers. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, and Nonna and will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, D.B. Pirtle; and one sister, Sherry Rush.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Weaver of Athens; mother, Ruby Pirtle; three daughters, Kristi and Allen Teague of Crossroads, Lisa and Brance Irby of Eustace, Leigh Anne and Russell Baker of Crossroads; two sisters, Linda Morton and husband Charles of Athens, Delana and Scott Newman of Crossroads and six grandchildren, Ty and Trey Turner of College Station, Destiny and Blake McCracken of Crossroads, Brittney Baker of Crossroads, and Brooklyn Irby of Eustace.

Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.


Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Crossroads 14232 FM 59 Athens, Texas.
