Athens – Graveside Services for Robert Stroede, 70, of Kemp are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hopewell Cemetery near Bradford, Texas with Bro. Derek Rogers officiating. The services will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens

Mr. Stroede passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 in Kemp, Texas.

Robert Gail Stroede was born August 4, 1945 in Ellsworth, Kansas the son of George John William Stroede and Minnie Anna Wacker Stroede. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1986 after many years of faithful service to his Country and was a member of the VFW Posts of both Seven Points and Trinidad. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, riding horses and watching football. He enjoyed painting and most of all spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and brother who will be greatly missed by all those he knew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his loving wife Stacy Stroede of Kemp; two children, Jennifer Lynn Stroede of Clarksboro, New Jersey, Robert Stroede Jr. of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; step-daughter Donna Force and children, Reagan Pogue of Hobbs, New Mexico and Randy Force of Malakoff; one sister Wanda Stroede of Salina, Kansas and one brother Gary Stroede and wife Sara of Salina, Kansas
