Athens –Funeral Services for Charles Marrs, 48, of Athens are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Lilley officiating. A private family graveside will be held at a later time under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Marrs passed away on January 8, 2017 in Tyler.
Charles Ray Marrs was born February 21, 1968 in McAlester, Oklahoma the son of David M. Marrs and Sharon Kay Tramel Marrs. He was an avid fisherman who was a member of the Christian Angler Bass Association. Charles was also a member of the Texas Cross Country Racing Association and spent countless hours riding and racing cars and dirt bikes. His true love was his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his boys working on cars and motorcycles. He was a loving and giving man who will be greatly missed by all he had touched.
He is survived by his parents, David and Sharon Marrs of Athens; his two boys, Tyler Ray Marrs and wife Cadi of Kaufman, Tristan Cole Marrs of Athens; two brothers, Brian and Johnathan Marrs both of Kemp one granddaughter Arabella Marrs and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1-3:00 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
