Athens – Memorial services for Dannie Leola Mays, 94, of Chandler will be held at a later date.
“Lee” passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Chandler, Texas.
Dannie Leola Anderson Mays was born September 22, 1922 in Lapanto, Arkansas the daughter of Walter Anderson and Dannie Leola Pendegrass Mays. She was a member of the Chandler Church of Christ, loved working puzzles and playing Old Solitaire. She was very talented at crocheting and spent countless hours making quilts which was her true joy. Granny was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Cecil Mays, five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her six children, Dannie Mae Baker and husband Don of Brownsboro, William Edward Stice and wife Dane of Cary, North Carolina, Brenda Kay Drennan and husband Larry of Chandler, Jerry Wayne Stice and wife Rhonda of Malakoff, Dennis Dwayne Stice and wife Lillie of Memphis, Tennessee, Danny Ray Stice and wife Debbie of Hammond, Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
